Dix Hills, NY - The Five Towns College Esports team has been announced as a winner of the eFuse 12 Days of RESPAWN giveaway, partnered with RESPAWN and NACE. The 12 Days of RESPAWN giveaway has announced 18 college and high school teams as winners to receive 12 RESPAWN gaming chairs.
To apply for the giveaway, all schools were required to submit a video demonstrating why their program was deserving of brand new gaming chairs. Esports coach Thomas O'Keefe got together with some of the Five Towns team members, along with Mass Communications student Starr Fuentes and Film/Video student Matthew Charran, to create a video to display what these chairs would mean to the program. The Five Towns College Esports submission video can be viewed below.
"We extend a huge thank you to all of those involved in making this giveaway happen." said O'Keefe. "Receiving 12 brand new gaming chairs will give us the start we need in developing our brand new esports program." Esports team member Justin Morris, a Freshman Theatre Arts major, explained what this giveaway means to him and the rest of the team: "Our team is so excited to be announced as a winner. We are looking forward to building our new arena and getting ready to compete for the first time in the Spring semester."
The Sound Esports team is scheduled to compete in the East Coast Conference (ECC) in the Spring 2021 semester. Five Towns College will currently compete in the following games hosted by the ECC, with the potential to add more game titles in the future: Overwatch, Valorant, Rocket League, League of Legends.
