The Women's Basketball team improved to 4-3 overall, 2-1 in USCAA with a win over Vaughn Institute Wednesday night. The Sound defeated the Warriors 95-16. Five Towns had four players score double-digit points and totaled 30 assists as a team. Rasauna Melendez led the scoring for the Sound with a career-high 42 points. Melendez moves to 7th on the USCAA scoring leaders with 20.2 points per game. Chloe Walton had a triple-double with 22 points, 13 assists, and 13 steals. Jada Roberts Duncan had a double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds. Denisha Allen grabbed 16 rebounds as she continues to lead the USCAA in rebounds per game (19.1).
The women are off for the rest of December and will return to play in the new year. The team will play at Suffolk County Community College on January 15th at 7:00 PM. Last time the two teams faced, Suffolk came out on top after a tight contest, as the Sharks won 57-54.
