USCAA Week 4 Coaches Poll - 1/9/19
After moving up to #19 in the Week 3 Poll, Five Towns College Men's Basketball ranked #20 (102 votes) in the Division II USCAA Basketball Week 4 Coaches Poll. The men's team is currently 4-4 overall, and 3-2 in USCAA contests. Sophomore guard Kyree Sawyer leads the team with 23.8 points per game (51.7%), good for third in the USCAA. Sawyer averages 3.3 assists and is tied for first in the USCAA with 3.5 steals.
Senior forward John Francois is the team's second highest scorer with 18.2 points per game. Francois also averages 7.6 rebounds and has posted two double-doubles this season.
The men return to play on January 16th when travel to take on the Davis College Falcons in a USCAA matchup. The team will then play four home games through January (1/19, 1/21, 1/24, 1/27). Check out the full Men's Basketball Schedule and come support the Sound!
The Five Towns Women's Basketball team went unranked in Week 4 but received votes (31) for the third week in a row, after ranking 20 in Week 1. The team is 4-3 overall, and 2-1 in the USCAA. Freshman guard Rasauna Melendez leads the team in scoring with 20.2 points per game, placing her 7th in scoring in the USCAA. Melendez also averages 2.2 assists and 3.0 steals.
Sophomore forward Denisha Allen continues to control the boards and is #1 in the USCAA in rebounds with 19.1 per game. Allen has scored three double-doubles this season. Senior guard Chloe Walton ranks in the top 10 in the USCAA in three categories: #3 steals per game (4.6), #5 assists per game (5.4), #6 blocks per game (1.7).
The women play two away games on January 15th at Suffolk Community College and on January 18th at Vaughn College, before returning home to face King's College on January 21st at 6:00 PM.
