Carlos Barros Joins Men's Soccer Staff as Goalkeeper Coach

Dix Hills, NY - Five Towns College Athletics has announced the addition of Carlos Barros to the men's soccer coaching staff as the Goalkeeper Coach.

Barros is currently the goalkeeper trainer for CB Goalkeeping, his own training company that he has been running since 2008. Previously, Barros was the soccer coach and goalkeeper director at FC SESA from 2017 to 2020.

"I would like to thank Head Coach Jason Fiscina and Athletic Director Matt Guercio for giving me this opportunity to join the Five Towns College soccer coaching staff. It is an honor to be part of this staff of great coaches." stated Barros. "I look forward to working with the coaches to grow this program to the heights I know that we can take it to as well as assisting every student-athlete to succeed on and off the field. I am counting down the days until we are out on that field competing together with the goal of winning a national championship."

Barros played three years of varsity soccer at Mineola High School where he was team captain. He was a part of the program that won the Nassau County Championship and the Long Island Championship in 2005. At the next level, Barros played at Molloy College alongside Five Towns soccer head coach Jason Fiscina. At Molloy, Barros helped lead the Lions to win the East Coast Conference Championship in 2008; the team was also selected to the NCAA Division II East Regionals that year.

"Having had the opportunity to both play against and with Carlos, he has earned my respect as both a fierce competitor and great teammate. Having won a championship with Carlos, he knows the work ethic, discipline, and commitment that is needed to build a championship caliber program." stated Fiscina upon the addition of Barros to his staff. "In a short period of time he has already made impact when it comes to our team culture/expectations. His expertise on goalkeeping and ability to make keepers improve both physically and mentally is going to be a great asset for both our men’s and women soccer programs."

All prospective athletes should email Coach Fiscina at jason.fiscina@ftc.edu and fill out the Prospective Student-Athlete Form.
