Glancy Named Five Towns College Men's Soccer Assistant Coach

Dix Hills, N.Y. - Five Towns College men's soccer head coach Jason Fiscina has announced the addition of Mike Glancy to his coaching staff ahead of the 2023 season. Glancy comes to Dix Hills after serving three years as the head coach at SUNY Maritime College.

"Coach Glancy will impact our program both on and off the pitch," said Fiscina. "His prior experience at the collegiate level will be a great asset to our staff and our student athletes. He is a tireless recruiter which will help improve our program in the years to come."

Glancy began as assistant coach at Maritime in 2017. He served as the interim head coach in 2020 and the interim tag was removed in 2021. In the 2017 season, Maritime won 11 matches with a 5-3-1 record in conference play. In the 2018 season, Glancy helped Maritime finish 7-2-1 in Skyline Conference action and earn the #2 seed for playoffs. The following year the Privateers improved upon their playoff performance and ran the table as the #6 seed behind two overtime victories and a shoot-out win in the semifinals.

"I would like to thank Coach Fiscina for giving me the opportunity to coach on his staff here at Five Towns College," said Glancy. "Coach Fiscina has created a great culture here and I am excited to get to work with this group of young men and continue the success they have had the past few years."

Glancy brings over 10 years of coaching experience to the Sound staff, including two seasons as the head coach of Transit Tech High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. He also has been a coach and board member of the Deer Park Soccer Club.

In addition to his soccer experience, Glancy currently serves as a physical education and health teacher with the New York City Department of Education. He has held positions at Susan B. Anthony Intermediate School, as well as Intermediate School 231 and Collaborative Arts Middle School 355.

Throughout his professional career, Glancy has held a role in the Boys and Girls Club of Oyster Bay-East Norwich, and served 15 years as an Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter in Deer Park on Long Island.

Glancy currently holds both NSCAA Level 1 and 2 Coaching Certificates as well as a Long Island Junior Soccer League's Intramural D level Coaching Certificate.

The Long Island-native attended East Stroudsburg University and graduated with a degree in Physical Education. He later went on to earn a Master's Degree in Sports Management from Adelphi University.
