Dix Hills, N.Y. - Five Towns College junior forward Dafne Espana was selected as the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week and freshman midfielder Jainee Martinez was chosen the Rookie of the Week for matches played September 11-17.  Men's soccer junior forward, Angel Chavez was named Honorable Mention.

Espana (Riverhead, NY) scored a hat trick in the Sound's 7-2 victory at home against Bucks County Community College on September 17. All three goals were the first tallies of the forward's season. Martinez (Wyandanch, NY) had an assist against NCAA Division III SUNY Maritime (September 15) and scored her first collegiate goal against Bucks County Community College. Five Towns College went 1-1.

Chavez (Mineola, NY) had two (2) goals on the week. He scored in the 80th minute in a 2-1 loss to SUNY Maritime on September 15 and the game winning goal in a 4-0 defeat of Bucks County Community College on September 17.  

Men's soccer (3-2) will be back in action on Monday September 25 when they host Bryant & Stratton College-Rochester (5-0). Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. Women's soccer (1-3) will open conference play on Saturday Septmeber 30 as they travel to Word of Life Bible Institutefor a 12 p.m. start.
