Men's Volleyball Signs First Ever Recruit: Gavin Castillo

Dix Hills, N.Y. - The Five Towns College men's volleyball team, led by head coach Christian Barton, has signed the program's first ever recruit, Gavin Castillo.

Castillo, a setter from San Bernardino, California, played for Wilmer Amina Carter High School where he was a two-year varsity captain. He earned 2nd All-Team honors for his junior and senior seasons. Castillo also was a member of the IMUA UVC program.

"Gavin comes from the west coast club IMUA UVC. He is a wonderful setter who is efficient and consistent in getting the ball to either pin." stated head coach Christian Barton. "He is cool and calm on the court directing traffic, while still being an incredible competitor. His leadership skills on and off the court will help us build an outstanding program. We can't wait to get him into our gym and watch him grow as a student-athlete."

The men's volleyball program will begin competition in the Spring 2021 season and will participate in the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCVF) and the Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Association (ECVA).
